Huawei Device USA Unveils "Access Smarter" Campaign at Taste of Chicago

Experiential campaign encompasses online competition, social media activations, launch experience, and local events throughout the country to further propel consumer awareness

CHICAGO, July 11, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Aimed to bolster consumer awareness in the United States, Huawei Device USA ("Huawei") today introduced the company's first experiential campaign at the world's largest food festival – Taste of Chicago. Now in its 32nd year, the nation's premier outdoor food festival will take place at Grant Park in Chicago from July 11 to 15. Huawei's campaign will center on the theme of "Access Smarter" to provide access to smarter realities for everyone – providing the devices, at the right price points and accessibility that enable and releases the smart in everyone.

Supported by global brand experience agency Jack Morton and Austin-based creative firm Proof Advertising, the campaign includes four elements:

  • An online competition where people can share what they would like to be able to do on a smartphone. The competition will run through August 3, 2012, and four winners will be chosen at the end to enjoy an amazing experience (which will be unveiled on August 6). The winners will also be given a Huawei device to document the experience and share with the rest of Huawei's community online.   • The launch of social media channels on Twitter, Facebook and YouTube. Using these new social media channels will allow Huawei to more easily and quickly provide consumers with company news, product launches and important updates.
  • A launch experience, aptly named the Huawei "Access Smarter" Village at Taste of Chicago that will bring to life Huawei's "Access Smarter" campaign through fun, engaging, hands-on experiences. Consumers can interact with the latest Huawei devices and experience access to smarter design, access to smarter entertainment, access to smarter living and access to smarter solutions.
  • A number of upcoming carrier activation events in Seattle, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Diego, Baltimore and Miami to build local awareness of Huawei's carrier partnerships and help drive consumers to retail locations in those markets.
